West Memphis Kid's Camp
Service, compassion, endurance, and perseverance are just a few words to describe our week at Kid's Camp. In West Memphis, our teens truly begin to understand those words on a whole new level. They learn quickly the Christ-like service of humbling themselves as the girls are constantly having their hair braided and the guys are climbed on like trees.
Compassion sets in quickly as they learn about the struggles these kids grow up with, like not knowing if they will eat dinner that night. Each day at the Wonder City Church, endurance is developed as our days began at 7:00 a.m. and ended around midnight. Of these four words perseverence is the word that in the end makes the lasting difference in the children's lives. It is the perseverance of our teens and adults that allows us to finish the race we start each year in West Memphis.
This perseverance is what teaches these kids most about what it means to be a Christian. It gives these children hope that life in Christ Jesus is a better life than many of them have seen at home. It is a life filled with love, forgiveness, and hope.
