“Lo I Sit on my Throne … and All is Well…”

Hurricanes, troubled children, wars, rumors of war, addictions, droughts, the economy , bills, disease/illness, negative politics, divorce, rudeness, senseless violence, no gas, foreclosures, massive lay offs , downsizing, and death are just a few of the issues we face in our homes and our nation today . As a Counselor at Blue Ridge Community College, I have many individuals enter my office on a weekly basis looking for solutions to life’s problems. I find with all my recent secular training and graduation that it is most evident to me that most, if not all, of my conversations ev entually end up talking about God, our Lord, and the overall message of love shown throughout the Bible. What a world it would be if ev ery body called on Him for their every need.

Psalms 51 says, “Have mercy on me, oh God, according to your unfailing love, according to your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sins. For I know all my transgressions and my sins are always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide my face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity . Create in me a pure heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will turn back to you.” Read God’s word daily , meditate on it, trust it and obey it.
