Get Plugged In!

Have you been to the appliance store lately to look at a new clothes washer or dishwasher?  They have so many accessories that it’s unbelievable.  There is a function for things that you’d never even think about or use for that matter.  Although the manufacturer has thought about every accessory you could ever imagine on a dishwasher, it only functions after you plug it into a power source.  Without that, it just collects dust. I feel that as a Christian family, at times we have a lot of functions, a lot of ministries, but unless we get everyone plugged into the power of God, we too, could possibly just sit back and collect dust.  1 Corinthians 12:12-14, states, “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body.  So it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body- whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free- and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.  Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.”  Verses 27-31 go on to say, “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.  And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.  Are all apostles?  Are all prophets?  Are all teachers?  Do all work miracles?  Do all have gifts of healing?  Do all speak in tongues?  Do all interpret?  But eagerly desire the greater gifts.”
We must all plug ourselves into God’s power, actively utilize whatever gift God has blessed us with, and use it to our full potential.  If you are not sure where your gift(s) can be used in the church body, ask someone; they may help you find that perfect niche.  May God bless you.
