Christmas Party 2008
We had a wonderful turn out Saturday for our Children’s Christmas party. I am very thankful for our young men and women in the youth group who devoted their time and energy to help make this such a memorable event. Out of the 16 kids that came, 12 were boys, who were full of energy and ready for action. Our afternoon consisted of Christmas relays races, a Frosty the Snowman contest, a reading of The Giving Tree and singing Christmas carols for the Senns and Bill Fitzpatrick, Sr. What a blessing to be a part of kid’s from ages 6 to 18 joining together in song to bring joy to others.
Around five o’clock we transitioned into our third annual Christmas Scavenger Hunt. The teens were involved in serving many citizens and businesses in Hendersonville, along with graciously decorating Duncan and Linda Blake’s front lawn free of charge (in the dark without them knowing). All in all, it was a day filled with Joy, Service, and lots of Laughs as we were all challenged to step out of out comfort zones to spread Christ’s love to Hendersonville. A special thanks to Stephanie and Nicola Cunto and Brandi LaFever for helping with our kid’s Christmas party. And thanks to our scavenger hunt drivers who’s sense of adventure and competitive spirit always adds an element of excitement. May God continue to bless this body of believers.
